“There will be a few times in your life when all your instincts will tell you to do something, something that defies logic, upsets your plans, and may seem crazy to others. When that happens, you do it. Listen to your instincts and ignore everything else. Ignore logic, ignore the odds, ignore the complications, and just go for it.” –Judith McNaught

“I have come to accept the feeling of not knowing where I am going. And I have trained myself to love it. Because it is only when we are suspended in mid-air with no landing in sight, that we force our wings to unravel and alas begin our flight. And as we fly, we still may not know where we are going to. But the miracle is in the unfolding of the wings. You may not know where you’re going, but you know that so long as you spread your wings, the winds will carry you.” – C. Joybell C.

“Set your life on fire. Seek those who fan your flames.” – Rumi

“You’re not learning if you’re comfortable.”- Debbie Beets

“Don’t hire geniuses, hire capable people.”- Larry Bradley

“The things we fear most in organizations-fluctuations, disturbances, imbalances-are the primary source of creativity.”          –Alfred Whitehead

Steve Jobs

“I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes. Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world. You’re doing things you’ve never done before, and more importantly, you’re Doing Something.

So that’s my wish for you, and all of us, and my wish for myself. Make New Mistakes. Make glorious, amazing mistakes. Make mistakes nobody’s ever made before. Don’t freeze, don’t stop, don’t worry that it isn’t good enough, or it isn’t perfect, whatever it is: art or love or work or family or life.

Whatever it is you’re scared of doing, Do it. Make your mistakes, next year and forever.”

-Seneca, Roman Philosopher

Wonderful quotes! My absolute favorite was the Neil Gaiman quote! I’m going to read some books of his now. 🙂 I realized his name was familiar to me from his “Coraline” book/movie!

I really enjoy your blog! I admire your confidence and your passion for change and your whole-hearted belief in the progress of Gen Y. You’re very funny as well! I’ve never really thought about Gen Y, even though I am participating in it. Seems it was about time to open my eyes. 😀 -Diana

I am drawn to this quote from the Star Trek TNG Episode, “All Good Things”. It is made by the omnipotent character, “Q”, and seems to embellish (at least for me)… life opportunities…

“For that one fraction of a second (the duration of our lives as it relates to the cosmos), you were open to options you had never considered. *That* is the exploration that awaits you. Not mapping stars and studying nebulae, but charting the unknown possibilities of… existence.”
